If you can have an outdoor ceremony, then that may be the least costly way to go. Not only that they are able to take the advantage of nature, but mostly, it will be free of charge. Things that may work are parks and botanical gardens, a friend’s courtyard, and the beaches. Of course, these are rather dependent on the weather, so you need to have a backup plan as well.

The best way to keep your costs low is that make the wedding ceremony and reception on the same area. Even if you have to pay a fee, then it only once. Another way to reduce costs is to have a light reception afternoon cocktail hour, instead of dinner. It can serve snacks and drinks instead of a meal face.
You do not necessarily need a band to keep the fun going well. Find a good master of ceremony (just choose one of your friend who can do it for free) an equipped your wedding with a nice CD or an MP3 player.
